An experimental training programme is currently taking place using Yahoo! Groups as a space for study and dialogue. This programme is intended to both assess the quality and clarity of the educational online material in regards to victim-offender mediation and restorative justice and to kick-off and feed into a transnational discussion focusing on the themes presented in the didactic units and other relevant questions indicated by the participants to the programme. Four user groups have been selected, one per partner country (Bulgaria, Germany, Italy and Spain) which were chosen on the basis of their demonstrated interest in the subject and their professional experience. The four groups have been invited to participate in the proposed experimental training programme; the programme provides for phases of work at the national level and opportunities for dialogue and exchange between the various groups. This experimental initiative will conclude at the end of March 2009. After that date anyone who is interested in victim-offender mediation and Restorative Justice can join the Yahoo! Groups (the link to such groups will be made available after that date). Our hope is that the national and transnational network created through Yahoo! Groups can serve as a reference point to bring forward the analysis and understanding of Mediation practises, further develop mediation competences and capacities and facilitate the sharing of experiences and good practises among interested experts and practitioners.
If you are interested in participating in the experimental phase, please fill in the Entry questionnaire and send an email explaining why you would like to participate to the national tutor (tutortin@yahoo.it). Know that the number of participants is limited in each country. You will be informed by the national or project tutor whether or not you have been accepted as a participant.
