This online platform aims at improving the networking and exchange of information among the actors involved in the project. It is set up by the In-Contro project developed by the Italian Ministry of Justice - Department of Juvenile Justice - whithin the framework of the National Operative Programme (PON 2000 - 2006).
The main beneficiaries of this online platform are practitioners and experts that work in the field of the juvenile both in the public and private sector, have to do with minors in conflict with law, and intend to actively contribute to the development of a common strategies and good practices in the field of juvenile penal mediation.
The need to develop and improve competences of practitioners and experts working in the field of juvenile justice both in public institutions (local social services) and private-non profit making organisations is the basis of such a proposal. The key educational role of victim – offender mediation in the juvenile justice system is underlined by international organisation working in the field of children’s rights and juvenile justice.
The project aims at supporting improvement in quality in vocational training for practitioners and experts working in the field of juvenile justice in public institutions (local social services), private and non profit making organisations by developing competences and skills by means of the on-line platform on Restorative Justice the Italian Department of Juvenile Justice has developed in its everyday work.
